Israeli Job Search Myths Debunked

Even in the Age of the Internet, it can still take a lot of time for changes and trends to become publicly known among a volatile group of people like job seekers. As a result, when the job market evolves in Israel or elsewhere, what once was true can become myth. Here is how some of those old truths look today.

Who Are You?

The existing jobs websites in Israel fall into 4 categories: corporate websites listing job openings such as Intel's (Hebrew), recruiter websites like TripleTec's, job boards like Jobnet's or employment resource directories like UzIT's Shimushon (Hebrew). After my recent successful Israeli job search during the summer and autumn of 2006, a friend and I started JobMob with the intention of doing something very different.

5 People Who Inspired the Creation of JobMob

Everyone has people that have inspired them to do something better, higher, faster or simply to do something. My high school physics teacher thought that fear was the best motivator, a terrible lesson to teach. The following people take a completely different tack by inspiring us all in the best way imaginable- by showing that you can achieve whatever you desire. Each is listed with one particularly outstanding trait of theirs.

In the Mood for Voting

As the 2007 JIBs wind down, I just voted in almost all the categories where JobMob was someone else's problem. I tried to choose the blogs that I thought were best in their class based on content, design, and interaction with readers among other things, but not whether I agreed with the blog's agenda. In other words, you shouldn't consider my vote an endorsement of a blog's message.
