NHS jobs: guidance on interview skills & NHS employment contracts for IMGs

TrewLink, in collaboration with the British Medical Association, will provide you with an informative learning session on how to prepare for a competency-based interview and understand NHS employment contracts.

Join us for a 60-minute webinar on how to enter the UK medical workforce successfully as an IMG. Delivered by the BMA, hosted by TrewLink.

About this event

The BMA will be delivering an interactive webinar to support international doctors who are preparing to move to the UK for work, or who have recently arrived in the UK.

The event will commence with introductions from the BMA and will be followed by a 40-minute interactive and engaging learning session.

The first part of the webinar will be about NHS employment contracts. This will cover:

• An overview of main contract types for doctors
• How the BMA negotiates contracts on your behalf
• How the BMA can support you with contract issues
• Specific advice when thinking about work under ‘local’ (non-national) contracts

The second part of the webinar will be focused on boosting your interview skills:

• preparing for a competency based interview
• consider the types of questions you could be asked and how to structure your interview responses
• virtual and in-person interviews – top tips

Following this session, there will be a 10-minute slot during which you may put questions to the speakers.
