Job Sharing: Helping your talent grow.

This event is for signatories of the Bristol Women in Business Charter only.

For this event, which is exclusive to Charter signatories, we're diverging from our usual focus on a single Charter goal. Instead we will be discussing a growing working practise: Jobsharing.

Clare Freshwater-Turner and Annabelle Richards are jobshare specialists. They are award-winning Co-Senior Finance Managers at Lloyds Banking Group and Co-Directors of The Jobshare Coach. They are passionate about making jobsharing more commonplace and empowering others to jobshare.

Their aim is to promote jobsharing to organisations as well as to individuals at any stage of their career wanting a better career/life balance. To enable this they offer bespoke coaching to both job sharers and line managers of job sharers.

They met when they were both on secondment to the Culture Change team at Lloyds Banking Group. In this role, they coached teams in ‘ways of working’, and developed and delivered management training. When an opportunity for permanent roles arose, they decided to apply as a jobshare to both reduce their working hours. It was a great success – from a business and personal perspective! This was acknowledged by a CEO award for their seamless ways of working! That was five years ago. In 2019, a promotion opportunity arose, which they successfully applied for as a jobshare; and are still in this role which is in cost management, and manage a team which includes another job share!

What are the benefits of a jobshare?

There is always someone to cover, and you can deliver a full-time role while working part-time. Your employer is also getting two brains, two skill sets and double the amount of experience. It has enabled us to achieve our career aspirations and have a great work life balance.

Join us to discuss the topic in more detail, and have the oppurtunity to ask questions, share experiences and ideas with our signatories. We'll make full use of Zoom's breakout rooms to facilitate conversations in smaller groups about this topic which will help attendees learn from each other about works (and what doesn't!).
