About this event
The Job Search Toolkit program is offered weekly over a 6-week period. It provides a combination of lectures and interactive online activities as well as discussion groups. Weekly assignments lead to a practical roadmap which you've created for yourself to help find the right job fit. You leave with practical tips and fresh perspectives specific to the mature job seeker. Educational concepts in this program which is from 9:30am-11:30am include:
– Net giving, a networking alternate
– Know yourself, know your brand, speak your truth
– Who reads my resume? and, get past those gatekeepers
– Do I speak the recruiter language?
– Finding my job niche
– Tacking the barriers of ageism
This 6-week toolkit program is offered on Wednesdays from 9:30am – 11:30am. It gives you opportunities to contribute through discussion, in-class activities and after class exercises. There is no cost to attend. Funded by an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, for unemployed people 50 -70 years of age, living in York Region. You must have stable internet connection and a computer/laptop/tablet/phone with camera. Next program date is Sept 1, 2021 and ends on October 6, 2021.
