About this event

In celebration of International Women’s Day we are holding ‘Girls in STEM’; a day of free, online, live 30 minute webinars to give young people insight into a range of career opportunities.

This is a great learning opportunity for young people to learn about different careers in STEM, what they entail, the opportunities they can offer, and how to get there!

Founders4Schools (F4S) invites schools, students and young people interested in discovering more about different career paths to join us in this day-long free virtual event to hear from inspirational role models about what it means to work in their job/industry/sector – real people, telling real stories. Come along to this free event to be inspired & get informed about your future career path.

Suitable for secondary aged students age 11+. There will be opportunities to put your questions to the guests during this live event.

Event Programme

09:45 – 10:15 Spotlight on maths of the future

Meet inspirational speakers who have impressive careers in areas such as fintech, digital, cyber security and research. Understand how the skills of today lead to the jobs of tomorrow.

11:00 – 11:30 Spotlight on green careers

Students will gain insight into careers using STEM which help to restore our planet. Meet inspiring role models who have impressive and unique careers which all contribute to protecting and preserving our planet and positively impacting our futures.

12:30 – 13:00 Where can maths take you?

Studying maths can equip you to pursue all sorts of careers; often in unexpected ways! Meet the experts who use maths every day in their jobs. Find out what they do, how they got there, and ask them your questions during this live event.

14:00 – 14:30 Spotlight on careers in digital

As most types of jobs adopt digital technologies, there is an increase in demand for digital literacy among employees. Workers across a range of occupations will need ICT skills as part of their daily work. Speakers with a background in Digital Technologies will share their experience and help young people understand what is needed to succeed in this sector.
