There are some roles, probably in cyber-security, that may view a fulsome LinkedIn profile with dismay, but even MI5 and MI6 advertise roles on LinkedIn these days!

For the majority of the planet, LinkedIn is the shopfront to your career – your public CV/resume and best opportunity to show your unique strengths, skills, talents and aspirations to the world.

A well-built profile significantly increases your chances of being found for what you want to be found for.

The majority of LinkedIn profiles do little for hire-ability, or – worse – actually reduce the chance of being found for a particular role and called for an initial chat or interview.

This session is focused on powering up your profile so that you can be found for what YOU want to be found for!

• What makes a great profile picture and when to use the #opentowork frame
• Using your banner to present your “brand”
• Contact details – making it easy for you to be contacted
• Why you should include your degree in your name
• Making the most of your headline and why it needs “pipes”

• What the “About” section is all about, and how to tune this and your Experience sections using a little-known LinkedIn feature
• How to evaluate connection requests and how many connections you should aim for

About our Speaker

Christopher Ross is CEO of Convoy Community, the Social Enterprise he founded in 2020 in response to the very difficult situation job-seekers faced around the Covid-19 pandemic and associated lockdowns. As part of his role as a manager and leader for the last 15+ years, he has coached and mentored hundreds of people on their career journeys.

An IT Infrastructure and Operations IT Director by trade, he has dedicated the last 2 years to building Convoy's vision of taking loneliness out of job-hunting.

He is a father of three, pack-leader to 2 busy Beagles, a Civilian Instructor to the RAF Air Cadets, and can frequently be found in his workshop, up-cycling something scavenged on a recent doggy walk.
