What do I need to apply?
Apprenticeship roles
- Any age
- Have achieved 5 GCSEs Grade C / Level 4 or above including Maths, English & Science.
- Level 6 Apprenticeships require Btech or A levels in STEM subjects
Graduate roles
- Graduate roles: Level 7 STEM related Degree( Science, Technology, Engineering Maths)
- Level 7 Degree Qualification 2:1.
- Applications welcome from graduates who have completed their studies in previous years
For both roles
- Applications welcome from individuals of any age.
- Or from job seekers or individuals currently in employment.
- Be forward thinking, willing to self- learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving.
- Have the aptitude and attitude to succeed in the world of engineering.
- Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
- Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly.

Who are Alstom ?
In January 2021 Alstom completed the acquisition of Bombardier’s rail business one of our largest employer in the City.
Alstom are the UK and Irelands leading supplier of new trains and train service, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider Alstom are number 1 in UK rolling stock and train maintenance, with over ½ of all UK rail journeys being on an Alstom train. Employing 6000 people nationally they design and build trains in Derby: the UK’s largest train factory, and additionally operate in 47 locations across the UK & Ireland.
