Since making aliyah in 1987 I have worked as a refrigeration/air conditioning engineer and have never been asked for a C.V.
I have been designing and building "aqua-life" systems for many years employing "hybrid" technology. This "skill" came from a 4 year Ministry of Technology apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering in Christchurch, Hampshire.
I am preparing a full C.V. including the research and development I have made privately on these systems.
I need some advice on how to submit this C.V. as essentially it involves a "career-change".

Hi,
The issue about sending out a CV in English or Hebrew depends very much in the Industry you wish to work for.
If you are applying for a High-Tech Job,for instance, then there is no problem sending an English CV (in some cases it might even be preferred).
If you would like to be Journalist for a Newspaper in Hebrew, then your English CV would thrown away immediately...

Yevgeni,

I do not agree with your assertion about English fluency. While this may be true in certain industries, it is not true across the board. I have certainly seen my fair share of hiring managers that could hardly read English.

Moreover, even people proficient in English, prefer reading in their native language (not to mention that their comprehension abilities are better in their native language).

One thing is true though. There are industries that routinely use certain English terminology and that should not be translated on a CV.

Any HR clerk in Israel is flient with both Hebrew and English. Thus, English CV isn't an issue for HR. Moreover, each recruiting company recreates the CV befor disribute it to the clients.
But, many team leaders and other professionals, which receive the CV via HR, and deside to invite or not to invite the candidate to to interview, prefer to read English. Hebrew CV is a big disadvantage for such a person.
